Agentic systems in production

I design systems that use models, and I run one in production that I own end to end. The interesting part is never the model. It is the set of things the system is structurally unable to do without a person, and deciding that before you build rather than after something goes out wrong.

Commerce infrastructure at scale

I owned the routing, decisioning, attribution and order pipeline that every partner and every dollar moved through, at a startup where that pipeline was the product. Then my manager left, I inherited four functions with no transition plan, and the job became rebuilding the organization around the platform at the same time as running it.

Member platforms inside a managed care organization

Eight years at a Fortune 25 managed care organization, and five roles inside it. I came in building websites, left running an engineering chapter, and in between I built the mobile department from one engineer and then got promoted to manage it.

Centene, flagship project

True Care Anywhere

Care managers assess members in their homes, and they used to carry the assessment in on paper: hundreds of pages of it, thousands of questions, all of it feeding the care plan built for that member. True Care Anywhere put it on a Chromebook. I led it, and the application was the last part of the problem rather than the first.

Digital Tide

After enough years running organizations you stop being able to do the work, and then you start making decisions for teams from a model of engineering that is five years stale. Digital Tide is how I keep that from happening. Small companies, real production systems, and me on the hook for all of it.

That Paleo Chick

A Ghost publication with a theme I built, a content pipeline that fills it, an iOS app that reads the same structured data the theme renders, and the infrastructure all three run on. I designed it, I operate it, and I am the person who gets paged.
